The HaxDB Store Node is not yet well-thought out. These are preliminary thoughts, not ratified design constraints.

The HaxDB Store Node is intended to allow users to purchase items from Zone-embedded stores without having to carry cash. This also prevents us from having (so much) petty cash lying around.

The Store Node would consist primarily of a LCD screen, wireless USB-connected barcode scanner, and buttons(?) Price tags on items and item bins would incorporate barcodes registered in HaxDB with associated descriptions and prices.

Users would scan their RFID token to auth, then use the barcode scanner to put items in their "shopping cart." Special codes on a nearby sign would allow quantities to be set - eg, scan-for-five, scan-for-ten. Presumably, buttons would allow the user to remove items from their shopping cart and/or adjust quantities before committing to purchase. Once a purchase is completed, users would see their current account balance.

HaxDB control would create an invoice for the purchase and supply it to accounting, somehow. Users' purchases would be incorporated with their monthly bill.
