The magnetic tumbler uses water, stainless steel pins, and a polishing compound to clean and polish objects.
At our space it is most used for polishing jewelry and coins.

This group project was built for use as demonstrations at events to help promote Knox Makers. It consists of an enclosure that sits over top of a fiber laser. The enclosure has five buttons. Four of the buttons will burn preset designs while the fifth button will engrave a design from a random pool of designs. The initial designs were made to engrave on square slate coasters. The project was made with the flexibility to not only change which designs it would engrave but also the position and size. This gives way to not only change what designs are available but what items it could engrave.

Put blank coaster in, press button, wait till finished, take out coaster.

== RULES SANCTITY ==
The point of KILLSWITCH is to stage spectacular robot battles, not to identify and exploit loopholes in the rules. The spirit of the rules will be upheld at all times.

== ENTRY ==
KILLSWITCH is open to both individual and team entries. Teams can be arbitrarily large.

KILLSWITCH is open to both Knox Makers members and non-members.

Individuals and teams may enter as many robots in the competition as desired. Each robot will be qualified and bracketed separately.

== ROBOT SIZE ==
Before competing, every robot must fit within a box whose width, height, and depth total 24″ or less. They are allowed to unfold, unfurl, extend, or otherwise grow once the match begins, but must do so under their own power.

All robots must weigh three pounds or less.

All robots must be mobile and their movement must be powered and under the control of an operator.

== REMOTE CONTROL ==
All of the robot’s functions must be under reliable remote control. Loss of control equates to loss of match.

Autonomous functions are permitted, but they must be able to be remotely disabled or overridden at any time via the remote control system. If autonomous systems are employed, an easily-visible indicator of autonomy is required. This will make it plain when the robot has been rendered "safe."

Remote control must be via commercially-produced wireless 2.4GHz systems with digitally-coded, mated pairs between transmitter and receiver.

Radio systems that stop all motion in the robot (both drive and weapons) when the transmitter loses power or signal are required for all robots. This may be inherent in the robot’s electrical system or be part of programmed failsafes in the radio.

All electrical power to weapons and drive systems must have a manual disconnect that can be activated within fifteen seconds without endangering the person turning it off (e.g. no body parts in the way of weapons or pinch points). Relays may be used as a secondary power control, but a mechanical disconnect is still required.

Due to success of past years online vote and to promote voting access to more members, the 2024 Annual Members Vote will be held online.

The virtual voting process will be similar to the previous years with some minor differences to ballot activation and timeline.

=Goals=
* Enable members to cast one vote online.
* Allow voters to confirm they have voted.
* Remove identifying information from votes.
* Produce voting results.

=Process=
# The voter pool is populated using HaxDB to pull members name, email, and mattermost username.
# A unique key is generated and assigned to each voter in the voter pool.
# Invitations are sent to each voter in the pool through their email address and mattermost message. Each invitation provides a link containing that voter's unique key.
# Voters use the link to cast their ballot. Submitting a ballot saves the results associated with the voter's unique key and removes them (and their identifying information) from the voter pool.
# Voters may continue to use the link to verify that that their ballot has been cast.

=Timeline=
* Vote invitations will be sent out January 9, 2023.
* The ballot will become active immediately upon invitation.
* The ballot will remain active until January 23, 2023 at 7:30pm.
* Voting results will be shared January 23, 2023 during the Annual Member Meeting.
