	We settled on a sit in rocket and are going to lean into a more retro take. Like the rocket attached with the big fins and aiming site but again, a sit in version. 	As it is a sit in, we’re going to work on a helmet with the coyote head/face attached. The goal is to essentially attach the rest of the coyote as a plushie on the outside similar to the attached coyote only pic. Think of those trade vehicles you’ve seen where it looks like the driver is sitting on a toilet (plumber truck) but more 3D! Our entry is gonna be fast but we want our coyote to look fast even when sitting still!		As it is a sit in, we’re going to work on a helmet with the coyote head/face attached. The goal is to essentially attach the rest of the coyote as a plushie on the outside similar to the attached coyote only pic. Think of those trade vehicles you’ve seen where it looks like the driver is sitting on a toilet (plumber truck) but more 3D! Our entry is gonna be fast but we want our coyote to look fast even when sitting still!

	A low profile base will contain the main functional chassis (wheels, steering, brakes, etc.) and the rocket will be attached to said frame. We’re going to figure out how to attach an animated roadrunner but that is still being worked out. We did decide that we’re not going to try to keep the road runner to scale, it will necessarily be smaller. As these aren’t available in bright red the intent is to use paint or, if that won’t work, a vinyl or car wrap type covering. The nose cone will be perforated at least on the lower side for ventilation. The frame will be steel and ~~even though not mentioned I think~~ we’ll ask Joe for input on materials specifically for the base frame. Jerry and Sue have offered up some marine plywood that should make a nice weather resistant rocket frame. We also want to jazz this thing up so it’s as impressive sitting still as it is moving!! Tasks that were volunteered:

* Branko has some scrap FRP type material and will test the adhesion/durability of paint so that we know if that is an option or whether we need to explore further.
* Earl will start scouting for suitable wheels, both steering and riding. Will also explore brake options with a desire for disk brakes for simplicity/reliability but something with suitable stopping power for ~500 lbs.
* Larry will model the rocket and base so that we can start scaling/verifying how things are going to come together in the full size version with the rules legal wheels, hollow body cockpit, etc.
* Sue is going to start researching materials for our coyote helmet and plushie body.

	There are a wide range of materials that the [[Laser Cutter]] can cut, etch or mark - but some simply don't work ~~(eg metals)~~ and some are extremely hazardous to either humans or the machine itself (eg PVC and ABS). It is therefore imperative that you check these lists before attempting to cut materials that you have not worked with before.		There are a wide range of materials that the [[Moonraker Laser Cutter]] and [[Crossbow Laser Cutter]] can cut, etch or mark - but some simply don't work and some are extremely hazardous to either humans or the machine itself (eg PVC and ABS). 	It is not always obvious which materials will work - for example: Polycarbonate/Lexan produces flames and doesn't burn well, or even etch without lots of soot and yellowing. Yet Acrylic - which looks, smells, feels and tastes just like Lexan - cuts smoothly and cleanly and is one of the best materials to use with the ~~laser~~! So check and double-check what you're cutting.
