New page

== Board Meeting: December 21, 2022==

=== Time & Location ===
*Meeting Located virtually on Big Blue Button
*7:00 PM

=== Attendees ===

*Board: Issac Merkle, Tracy Homer, Sue Joslin, Sean Simoneau, Billy Huddleston, Jondale Stratton, Bryan Howard

=== Minutes ===
*Financial update
**Classroom fund will be moved to general fund
**Starting to get grant reimbursements but still spending some of it
**New slide showing our average change per month - general has an average increase of about $3k per month
*Sue and Tracy met with a financial planner at the bank in order to talk about how can we eventually own our own building
**Y12 will loan to non profits
***Wants 20% down and closing costs (about 3%)
***Non-profit loans also need guarantor (possibly two people)
***We should talk to a real estate broker first
*New members - solidly above 300
*Goals for 2023
**These were set at the Board Retreat - we can't do it all so what do we find important
**1. Special Events - anything to socialize and build relationships among ourselves and with the community
**2. Save for a building - mentioned already
**3. Infrastructure - we have made a lot of changes and things need to be buttoned up
**4. Work smarter - automate, spread the load, etc
*Bylaws changes
**Nothing of note - there are some inconsistencies that Tracy will look into
*Annual meeting - if we do it in person, are we going to stream and/or have online voting
**We got more votes when we did it digitally
**Decided to open the ballots a week before the annual meeting and close at the end so we can announce the votes at the meeting
**Amos will make "I voted" hot dogs for us at the annual meeting
*Toy Tech - maybe spread it out through the year so we can not be stressed at the last minute
*Maintenance issues
**Lightbulbs - we have run out of a certain type and there is a bad ballast in machining
*Thanks Billy for the classroom ducting
*Jondale wants to talk about the large format printer and purchase it with the grant money
**It is more expensive than we thought so we will justify it
*Next board meeting is January 15, 2023
