Board Meeting:
Time & Location
July 28, 2024 Big Blue Button
Minutes
- FINANCIALS
The Quickbooks conversion is still underway with Sue wrestling with the details. We received the first half of the grant money and should receive the second half soon. Our cash position is solid.
- MEMBERSHIP
Members fell from 375 to 369. (Non-paying members are being culled)
- Mayors Maker Council
Jondale reported on a meeting that focused on makers who are more commercially focused. The city doesn't necessarily hand out money - rather offers tax breaks. They do however provide facade grants for those that have buildings. This is something we can keep in mind should we get our own building.
- FALL MAKER MARKET
Due to concerns revolving around a night market, we need to consider a lawyer consult. Primary issues are liability and whether or not we have adequate insurance coverage. Voted to approve up to $2,000 for attorney fees.
Initially, there will be three main teams to make the market a reality: Lighting Decor/Theme Marketing/Promo
Rules agreed on:
No gasoline generators
No political items promoted or sold.
We will have Classic KILLSWITCH at the Fall market
- SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
TCAT hasn't recommended a person for the second scholarship. We will proceed with onboarding the initial recipient.
- ELECTRONICS RECYCLING
SPARK has an agreement with a recycler to take old electronics in exchange for a donation. By donating items to them, we can support SPARK and get rid of a lot of old junk on the Hack Rack.
