Talk:Community Outreach
I think the list should be chronological. I think most of the things you've got on the list for general events are good. There are a few that I think are out of focus.
Here's a list of things that I think are poor fits:
- First robotics league would be good, but we never actually did anything with it. It just showed up on our calendar. So not really outreach.
- Codestock is not an event where "Knox Makers" has presented. Sam has been active with it, but not our organization. So not really Knox Makers, and not really outreach.
- We didn't actually go to the muse robotic revolution.
- We haven't presented at PechaKucha (yet) so not actually outreach (yet)
- We didn't present at comicon, so not outreach
Under the next section, I think they are all bad fits. I feel like the LCL is actually another class, and maybe not distinct as community outreach. The other two we were attendees, but not doing any outreach.
Makerfaires should be outreach, but without being a separate category. I like everything listed as one chronological list. It'll be important on grant applications that things that we do will be recent. So older events gain less weight over time.
All the hacker events our out. We were attendees at best, but that's not community outreach. We didn't present.
I don't think that we should talk about the special build projects separately. We should talk about the events instead of the builds. Let's focus on the places where we've done outreach with the robots, and less emphasis on them specifically.
All the partnerships should be talked about in the scope of specific outreach. The whole point of each of these write-ups about each event stands alone. We want to have these things convenient and stand alone so we can pull out what we need when we need it.
WIP
Paired the suggested items out. I was confused about what this page was for. I'll work on tracking down the dates for these, putting descriptions in for each, and tracking down any internal/external media like write ups, pics, video. Very WIP as of this edit
