Cardboard Build Resources
From Knox Makers Wiki
Below are a number of resources to assist you in building a cardboard class robot for KILLSWITCH. If you have questions or requests please drop them in the Mattermost KILLSWITCH Channel!
Chassis Files
| Cardboard Class | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic rectangular Vertical Spinner | .svg file | Fully editable in Inkscape, this file should contain everything you need to laser all the necessary cardboard and baltic birch to complete a full, basic cardboard robot. This was designed around the hardware recommended in the wiki.
** Some batteries may be a tight fit in the battery bay, I'd suggest putting a ribbon or similar under the battery to facilitate easy removal if this is the case for you. |

Wheel Files
Ready to go beyond the stock Pololu wheels recommended in the sample parts list? How about printing your own custom wheels!
| Double O-Ring Version | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hub Check - highly suggested you print one of these and verify shaft fit before printing full wheel(s). | ||||
| 4.40mm shaft diameter
(Try on Prusa XL) |
.step file | .stl file | This shaft diameter - 4.40mm - seems to work well when printed on the Prusa XL (tested 8/12/25) using PETG material but I'd still advise you to print and test fit a hub check yourself before printing wheels. | |
| Full Wheel - If the shaft size is correct for your application you can download the .stl file and send directly to the printer or download the .step file and edit to your liking! | ||||
| 4.40mm shaft diameter - KILLSWITCH Text | .step file | .stl file | The size of this wheel is comparable to Pololu 80 x 10mm and they use a 5.5mm x 3mm square nut and a 3mm x 10mm (or longer) screw to secure to the motor d-shaft.
Sized for 2-1/2" ID, 2-3/4" OD, 1/8" Width O-rings. Many variations of these exist, this is just one. Try different materials and share what works best for you! |
