'Event' is defined for purposes of this section only, as an emergency or other unusual situation that may not be safely or appropriately handled by present members.
An Emergency Contact Board will be placed in the space for the sole purpose of containing responder and emergency contact information. A similar board will also be placed outside the inner entry door, and a list provided at member request.
Members with specialized training or experience are encouraged to participate.
Designated Responder is a purely volunteer position.
A designated responder should keep mental note of who is present at the space for safety purposes. If an event should occur, a designated responder should announce his or her presence.
Designated responders will be responsible for contacting any necessary KMS staff immediately but only after an event is under control.
If multiple designated responders are present during an event, they should quickly delegate roles amongst themselves.
Members working alone in the space should follow the Emergency Contact Plan if an event occurs.
