Minutes

• This year each person on the board will report on their individual projects so we can keep everyone on task

Issac: President

• Met with 625 collective - it was indeed too expensive and fancy for us, and we are too noisy for them
• Update on the building purchase - we think this is possible in a shorter term than we thought
  • We have a contract with a real estate agent and are figuring out financing currently
  • Nothing is really happening except many meetings
• The Board went a retreat again a few weekends ago
  • The primary topic was the purchase of the building and how it will effect us - administratively, financially, and membership-wise
  • One important thing we decided - we will continue to sublease the upstairs to help pay the mortgage - but maybe someday we can also occupy the upstairs
  • (If anyone has a strong in with some fancy people in Knoxville, message issac!)
  • Sue is tasked with coming up with different financial scenarios including mortgage and added expenses
• Documentary and CityView interview - waiting as long as there is no more updates
• Vestival is coming up - we need to organize that and get some people committed to do some demos
  • Their planning committee has not secured a shuttle and thought people might want to walk... Aliki respectfully disagreed - so we'll see what happens
• Larry has committed to being Killswitch King and his thought is the first thing to do is get a new cover for the arena so we don't have to keep repairing it.

Sue: Treasurer

• Pretty average income in March, a bit lower on spending (except we accidentally double paid rent because of the bank)
• Sue is still tracking gas spending to see how much that is costing the General Fund
• Sue is working to set up ACH payments (both going out and coming in) if anyone wants to switch their dues to paying via ACH

Tracy: Membership Director

• 354 members
• Tracy would like to add wording to the Membership Application about how people feel they can help at KM - not to keep a checklist but to push the idea that we run on volunteer sweat and get them thinking about their own contribution.

Russell: Community Director

• MIA today

Jondale: Tech Director

• SSO - getting a handful of people a week wondering why they can't get into Mattermost - it will just be that way until everyone trickles through
• HaxDB refresh - has risen near the top of priorities and is a goal for this year
• Mayor's Maker Council
  • Mostly focused on Dogwood Arts Festival - workshops and demos and promoting KM
• Camera system stopped recording so Jondale added monitoring and gives a little data to show when events are being recorded (no people data, just what timestamps the camera triggers)

Daryl: Communications

• Not much to share about the website - but now single sign on is working on the demo site yay!
• Working on getting a plugin that will work directly with Quickbooks and save Sue so much time

Sean: Creative Director

• Almost done with branding documents - will share draft this afternoon
• Sean is doing a podcast in May with the Ramblin' Man
• Tomfoolery: Sean has collected the entries for the Make it Mini Challenge

Billy: Facilities

• Hang tags and parking tickets have been disbursed - he's currently tagging things today! Your shit is in danger!
• Billy sent out a revised materials list for compressed air project - it is all removable in the case that we move locations
• Russell is looking into electrician guys for a power drop but no update yet

Other stuff

• What's the deal with e-waste? We are now collecting it and it is being collected. Where should we store the box? It needs a better place than in Hospitality. Perhaps in the side lot? It also needs some labeling.
• We have some leaks coming from upstairs - Billy thinks its the seals on the upstairs toilets - Issac will speak to MT about it
• Next meeting May 18, 2025 - see you all there!

• Voted to spend up to $1000 to purchase a cover of some sort for the Thunderdome
• Voted to add Tracy's wording about volunteering to the Membership Application
• Voted on Billy's proposal to provide compressed air to several areas in our shop
