Board Meeting:
Time & Location
4pm October 27, 2024, Big Blue Button
Minutes
- Sue's financial report
- Nothing out of the ordinary except market expenses - even with all the expenses, still had $590 in excess
- New member update - 372 members
- Mayor's Maker Council - No meeting last month so nothing to report
- Sponsors program - we've had a couple people approach asking if there were any sponsorships available
- We have an anonymous program that if people are in need they are matched with a member who is paying $75 - maybe we should advertise that more as there are no "open" sponsors
- Documentary people were here last Tuesday, and are getting ready to interview makers
- Still looking for: People who are less interested in community and more just tools, and also old pics of the space in its infancy
- Maker Education Meetup and Arts & Cultural Alliance meeting, and Arts & Creative Business Resource Fair - all things happening soon and we are attending
- Issac had to dispense of his cat again
- Board retreat coming up - board members should be ready for pre-work
- Bryan Howard has decided to not run for the board in 2025. He has been a valued member for several years but has moved further away
- Daryl Houston has been nominated for the board and has accepted. He will be running in the 2025 election.
- Two votes to change the member rules, as detailed below.
- Next meeting: Uhhh November is really difficult to schedule plus there is the retreat so Tracy will look at TN law to determine if it is required we have a meeting every month. Date TBD
Votes

Proposal Two: Under General Prohibitions, add the following category: Crafting of destructive devices "The manufacture, modification, or marking of firearms is strictly prohibited on the Knox Makers property. This prohibition includes firearms, frames, receivers, mufflers, and silencers."
